
Several of the major teams being represented and included names which most people will be familiar with such as Alfa Romeo, Ford, Fiat, Austin, MG, Bugatti and Maserati. There were also entries from several manufactures that may not be as well known such as Adler, Alta, Lea Francis, Reily, Sunbeam and Frazer Nash. The race also was a milestone in Irish Grand Prix racing as it was the first time an ERA racing car was raced in Ireland. ERA were the only British manufacturer who specialised in building Grand Prix cars at the time are were one of the top teams in the 1930's.
The 2.76 mile long route included William St, Roxborough Road, Careys Road, Rossbrien Road, Punches Cross, O'Connell Avenue and back down O'Connell St.
